This circular walk follows the River Eamont as it winds through open fields. A perfect spot for dogs to paddle and explore.

Around the halfway mark, the route passes the striking ruins of Brougham Castle, steeped in centuries of history and an ideal photo stop. From there, a quiet country road leads to Brougham Hall, a medieval fortified courtyard with picnic tables and a welcoming, dog-friendly café serving excellent coffee and cake.

The final stretch takes you over Eamont Bridge and finishes just outside the Beehive Pub, making this a relaxed and rewarding outing with plenty of places to pause and soak up the charm of the area.

Step 1: Once you’ve parked up, head towards the Beehive Pub

Step 2: Continue along the path past the Beehive Pub until you reach the bridge

Step 3: Use the footbridge to cross the River Eamont

Step 4: Turn right at the end of the footbridge and head down the side road
